Vicki Chesler has been painting and drawing since her childhood on the North Shore of Long Island. She entered Connecticut College as an art major and studied there as well as at the Roslyn School of Art, C.W. Post College on Long Island, and the Woodstock School of Art (WSA) in Woodstock, New York. She spent the Spring of 2001 painting en plein air in Provence, France, and has painted watercolor landscapes in such far-flung locales as Bali, Kenya, Greece and Italy. At the WSA she has studied watercolors with Staats Fasoldt, pastels with Christine Debrosky, and oils with Mary Anna Goetz. Louis Lozowick
Lozowick is an important mid-century  artist, and you would recognize many of his industrial black and white paintings and woodcuts. This color woodcut of a train crossing a bridge over a river is unique, and a very nice piece.
